On Sunday, December 11, 2005 seven outstanding young women of the Girl Scout of the Nations' Capital Troop #4678 were recognized for their service to their community at the Gold Award Ceremony held at the Prince Frederick Elk's Lodge.

Congratulations to Ms. Hamer, Ms. Hanko, Ms. Helie, Ms. James, Ms. Spalding, Ms. Town and Ms. Wikoff.

From the Girl Scouts web site:

"The Girl Scout Award is the highest award that a Girl Scout 14-17 may earn. Someone once described the Girl Scout Gold Award as being "what you really want to be remembered for" in Girl Scouting.  For many, the leadership skills, organizational skills, and sense of community and commitment that come from "going for the Gold" set the foundation for a lifetime of active citizenship."

Thank you to each of you and I wish you great success in the future.
